Taking Korlym (mifepristone) with cannabis can significantly increase the amount of cannabis in your bloodstream. This can lead to much stronger side effects, such as extreme drowsiness, confusion, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, or anxiety. Additionally, it is illegal to drive in the UK with any cannabis in your system.

Why this happens

Korlym blocks a specific enzyme in the liver (called CYP3A4) that is responsible for breaking down the active ingredients in cannabis. Because the liver cannot clear the cannabis as quickly as usual, the levels of the drug build up in your body.

You should avoid using cannabis while taking Korlym. If you have used both and feel unwell, seek medical advice. Remember that it is illegal to drive with any cannabis in your system in the UK.
