Combining Orlistat (Alli/Xenical) with a multi-ingredient supplement like Wellness Formula can lead to your body not absorbing the fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, and E) contained in the supplement. This means you may not get the full health benefits of the formula. Additionally, some herbal ingredients in Wellness Formula, such as Garlic or Ginger, may slightly increase the risk of bruising or bleeding when taken with other medications, though this is usually mild.

Why this happens

Orlistat works by blocking the enzymes that break down fat in your gut. Because vitamins A, D, E, and K need fat to be absorbed into your bloodstream, Orlistat prevents these vitamins from being taken up by the body. They instead pass through your system and are lost in your stool.

To make sure you benefit from the vitamins in your Wellness Formula, take it at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking your Orlistat dose (for example, take the supplement at bedtime). If you notice any unusual bruising or persistent stomach upset, speak with your pharmacist or doctor.
