Taking Abilify (aripiprazole) and diazepam together can make you feel very sleepy, dizzy, and unsteady on your feet. It can also slow down your breathing and make it harder to concentrate or perform tasks.

Why this happens

Both medicines work by slowing down activity in the central nervous system (the brain and nerves). When used at the same time, their effects add together, leading to increased sedation and a higher risk of coordination problems.

Use this combination with caution. You should avoid alcohol entirely, as it will make these side effects much worse. Do not drive or operate machinery until you are certain you are not affected. If you feel excessively drowsy or have trouble breathing, contact your doctor immediately.
