There is no known interaction between alendronic acid (used for bone strength) and nebivolol (a beta-blocker for blood pressure). These two medicines work in completely different ways and do not interfere with how the body absorbs or processes each other.

Why this happens
Alendronic acid is a bisphosphonate that acts on bone metabolism, while nebivolol is a selective beta-1 receptor blocker that affects the heart and blood vessels. They are cleared from the body through different pathways (kidneys vs liver) and do not share common metabolic enzymes.
What you should do
Back to contentsYou can safely take both medicines as prescribed. However, ensure you follow the specific instructions for alendronic acid: take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach with a full glass of plain water, and remain upright (sitting or standing) for at least 30 minutes before taking your nebivolol or having any food or other drinks.
