Why this happens

Amitriptyline can sometimes cause a drop in blood pressure when you stand up (orthostatic hypotension). Dapagliflozin works by removing sugar and extra fluid through your urine, which can also lower blood pressure or cause mild dehydration. Together, these effects can add up. Additionally, while dapagliflozin lowers blood sugar, amitriptyline can occasionally affect how the body handles glucose, though this is less common.

You can usually take these medicines together, but you should be careful when rising from a sitting or lying position. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. If you feel very dizzy, faint, or notice significant changes in your blood sugar readings, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
