There is no significant interaction between rosuvastatin and trazodone. These two medicines are generally safe to take together.

Why this happens
Rosuvastatin and trazodone are processed by different pathways in the liver. Rosuvastatin is primarily handled by the CYP2C9 enzyme, while trazodone is mainly processed by the CYP3A4 enzyme. Because they do not compete for the same 'processing machinery', they do not interfere with each other's levels in the blood.
What you should do
Back to contentsYou can continue taking both medicines as prescribed by your doctor. As with any statin (like rosuvastatin), you should always report any unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness to your doctor, but taking trazodone does not increase the risk of this happening.
