Swiss Chard with Raisins and Almonds

This vibrant Swiss chard with raisins and almonds is a sophisticated vegan side dish that balances earthy, sweet and smoky notes beautifully. By gently braising the chard with Spanish smoked paprika and golden raisins, the leaves become tender and infused with a rich depth of flavour. It is an excellent way to enjoy seasonal greens, offering a colourful and nutritious accompaniment to a variety of Mediterranean-inspired plant-based meals.

Quick to prepare and naturally healthy, this recipe relies on pantry staples like extra-virgin olive oil and toasted nuts to provide a satisfying texture. The addition of crunchy almonds provides a lovely contrast to the soft, wilted greens, making it a reliable choice for a midweek dinner or a festive Sunday roast. Serve it alongside roasted root vegetables or a hearty grain salad for a complete and balanced meal.
