Wildflower Honey- and Whisky-Glazed Sweet Potatoes

This sophisticated vegetarian side dish brings a touch of indulgence to any roast dinner or festive spread. The natural earthiness of orange-fleshed sweet potatoes is enhanced by a rich glaze made from floral wildflower honey and a generous splash of Scotch whisky. As the potatoes roast, the sugars caramelise to create a sticky, golden coating that balances savoury notes with a gentle, smoky warmth.

Ideal for a warming autumn meal or as a standout accompaniment to a Christmas feast, these glazed sweet potatoes are incredibly simple to prepare. The dark brown sugar adds a deep toffee-like complexity, while the whisky provides a subtle depth that cuts through the sweetness. Serve them piping hot alongside roasted meats or a nut roast for a truly comforting homemade meal.
