This traditional Indian raita is a cooling vegetarian side dish that provides the perfect balance to vibrant, spicy flavours. Made with creamy yoghurt and crisp cucumber, it is elevated by the addition of aromatic ground cumin and coriander. The fresh coriander and spring onions add a bright, herbaceous note that cuts through richness, making it an essential accompaniment for any homemade curry night.
Quick to prepare and naturally healthy, this versatile dip is best made shortly before serving to maintain the texture of the cucumber. It pairs beautifully with spicy vegetable biryanis, lentil dahls, or warm naan bread. Whether you are hosting an elaborate feast or a simple midweek meal, this authentic raita brings a refreshing contrast and a professional finish to your Indian-inspired spread.
