Through her videos, social media platforms and podcasting work, Alexis has become a prominent voice in conversations around transgender visibility, relationships and modern life. She was recently named Gaydio Influencer of the Year.
On this episode of Yorkshire Talks, Matt and Christine are joined by Alexis Blake - a Doncaster-based content creator, influencer and transgender advocate who has built a huge online following by sharing her experiences of transition, identity and everyday life with honesty, humour and authenticity.
Alongside her husband, Liam Blake, Alexis co-hosts The Blake Debate — an open and candid podcast exploring current issues, personal experiences and the topics that spark conversation across the UK.
In this honest conversation, Alexis tells Matt and Christine about:
• Coming out as a gay man before realising she needed to transition, after delaying the decision for many years.
• Working as a trans woman in a tough Yorkshire warehouse environment.
• Her husband Liam's reaction to her transition, and how it strengthened their relationship.
• Their decision to share their journey publicly online.
• Liam's own mental health breakdown and recovery.
• Gender-affirming surgery and life after transition.
• Their hopes of adopting in the future.
• Times when Alexis has felt unsafe as a trans woman.
• Why she believes support for the LGBTQ+ community has declined in recent years, due to changing attitudes, funding pressures and the political climate.

Danny Malin on health, balance and life beyond viral fame
When Danny Malin first appeared on Yorkshire Talks, viewers met a man at a moment of huge change. Joined by his wife Sophie Malin and their baby daughter Athena Malin, Danny spoke candidly about becoming a father, navigating sudden fame, and the pressures that came with being recognised everywhere he went. Now, Danny returns for Series Two, and this conversation feels different. Quieter, more reflective, and rooted in health, wellbeing and what it means to listen to your body when life starts asking too much.

Jono Lancaster on identity, rare conditions and the courage to embrace yourself: a powerful Yorkshire Talks conversation This episode of Yorkshire Talks is one of those moments. Before the cameras even begin rolling, it is clear that Jono Lancaster brings with him a presence shaped not by fame, but by lived experience, compassion and an extraordinary emotional clarity. Jono’s story has reached millions across the world. Many know him from his uplifting memoir Not All Heroes Wear Capes or from his recent Channel 4 series Love My Face, where he stepped into the homes and the hearts of families navigating visible differences. But sitting with Matt Jameson and Christine Talbot, we meet Jono not as a presenter or an author, but as a man whose life has been shaped by early rejection, profound resilience and a lifelong commitment to helping others feel seen.
