This vibrant crawfish salad is a celebration of fresh coastal flavours, combining succulent crawfish tails with sweet crab claw meat and prawns. It is a light, dairy-free dish that relies on a zesty lemon and mayonnaise dressing to bring out the delicate sweetness of the shellfish. The addition of crunchy celery and green pepper provides a satisfying texture, making it a refreshing choice for a summer lunch or an elegant starter for a dinner party.
As a versatile seafood dish, this salad can be prepared in advance and stored in an airtight container for up to three days, allowing the flavours to marry perfectly. Whether served in a crisp lettuce cup, piled into a soft baguette, or enjoyed alongside a seasonal green salad, it offers an easy yet sophisticated way to enjoy high-quality shellfish at home.

Ingredients for Crawfish Salad
120ml crab claw meat, bits removed
475ml boiled crawfish tails
230g boiled, peeled prawns
2 large celery stalks, sliced (about 150g )
40g green pepper
3/4 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoons ground black pepper
120ml mayonnaise
3 tablespoons lemon juice
Pinch of cayenne pepper
How to make Crawfish Salad
Mix everything together in a bowl and then refrigerate until you are ready to serve. It’s really that easy. (I like to mix the mayo and lemon juice together before stirring it into the rest of the ingredients.)
Do Ahead: Will keep in an airtight container for up to three days before getting funky.
