Crab Hush Puppies With Curried Honey-Mustard Sauce

These crab hush puppies offer a sophisticated twist on a classic Southern comfort food. By combining sweet, fresh lump crabmeat with savoury spring onions and a hint of spice, these golden fritters become a protein-rich snack or elegant starter. The addition of clam juice ensures a deep, coastal umami flavour that perfectly complements the golden cornbread exterior.

Served with a vibrant curried honey-mustard dipping sauce, this dish balances sweetness with a gentle heat. It is an excellent choice for those seeking a homemade seafood treat that feels indulgent yet remains simple to prepare. For the best results, serve them while they are still hot and crisp, garnished with a handful of fresh spring onions to brighten the plate.
