These turkey sloppy joes offer a lighter, high-protein alternative to the traditional beef version without compromising on the deep, savoury flavour. The sauce is a rich blend of tomatoes, tangy cider vinegar and a hint of spice, which coats the lean minced turkey perfectly. Pairing the tender meat with crumbly, homemade cheddar buttermilk biscuits adds a wonderful texture and a sharp, cheesy finish that elevates this humble classic into something truly special.
Ideal for a satisfying family dinner or a relaxed weekend lunch, this recipe is both comforting and nutritious. The sauce can be made in advance and reheated, making it an excellent option for busy weeknights when you need a wholesome meal in a hurry. Serve with a crisp green salad or some steamed seasonal vegetables to balance the richness of the biscuits.
