This vibrant sweet potato purée with smoked paprika is a sophisticated alternative to standard mash. By roasting the potatoes in their skins, you concentrate their natural sweetness, which creates a deep, caramelised flavour profile. The addition of smoked paprika and a pinch of cayenne pepper provides a gentle, warming heat that perfectly balances the rich double cream and buttery finish.
As a versatile vegetarian side dish, this velvety smooth purée pairs beautifully with roasted meats, grilled halloumi or even flaky white fish. It is an excellent make-ahead option for busy weeknights or a festive Sunday roast, offering a colourful and nutritious boost to your plate. For the best results, ensure you blitz the mixture while the potatoes are still warm to achieve that signature glossy texture.
