Puis-je prendre Anastrozole et Simvastatine ensemble ?

Guide d'interaction médicamenteuse

There is no known direct interaction between anastrozole and simvastatin. However, both medications can independently cause muscle aches or joint pain as side effects. Taking them together might make it more difficult to determine which medicine is causing these symptoms if they occur.

Pourquoi cela se produit

Anastrozole is an aromatase inhibitor used for breast cancer, and simvastatin is a statin used for cholesterol. They are processed by different pathways in the liver and do not interfere with how the body absorbs or removes the other. While they do not interact directly, they share a similar side-effect profile regarding muscle and joint discomfort.

You can safely take these two medicines together. If you experience any new or worsening muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, you should contact your doctor. It is helpful to keep a record of when any symptoms started so your doctor can determine which medication might be responsible.

Grossesse

You must not take anastrozole or simvastatin if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, as it can cause serious harm to an unborn baby. Use effective contraception while taking it.

Muscle pain or weakness

You must report any unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness to your doctor immediately. In rare cases, this can lead to serious kidney damage.

Ostéoporose (Affaiblissement des os)

Desnastrozole significantly lowers oestrogen levels, which can weaken your bones and increase the risk of fractures. Your doctor should monitor your bone density.

Jus de pamplemousse

Grapefruit juice contains compounds that inhibit the enzyme (CYP3A4) responsible for breaking down simvastatin. This can significantly increase the levels of the medicine in your blood, raising the risk of serious side effects like muscle damage (rhabdomyolysis). You should avoid drinking grapefruit juice or eating grapefruit while taking this medicine.

Alcool

While moderate alcohol consumption is generally acceptable, heavy drinking or binge drinking while taking simvastatin increases the risk of liver problems. Since both alcohol and statins affect the liver, it is best to keep your intake within the recommended low-risk limits.
