This elegant pumpkin potato puree offers a sophisticated twist on a classic side dish, combining the earthy sweetness of pumpkin with the creaminess of traditional mash. The addition of diced Fontina cheese provides a lovely melt and a subtle nutty flavour, while the fresh sage and cider vinegar cut through the richness for a perfectly balanced finish. It is a vibrant, colourful accompaniment that brings a touch of seasonal warmth to any dinner table.
A comforting vegetarian option, this recipe is ideal for Sunday roasts or as a base for grilled vegetables. The hint of grated nutmeg enhances the autumnal notes, making it a reliable favourite for cooler months. By using warmed milk and mashing the potatoes while hot, you ensure a velvety, shop-bought texture that feels truly indulgent yet remains simple to prepare at home.
