Why this happens
Amlodipine can slow down the body's ability to break down atorvastatin in the liver. This leads to higher levels of the cholesterol medicine circulating in your system.
What you should do
It is generally safe to take these together, but your doctor may choose to limit your dose of Lipitor (atorvastatin) or monitor you more closely. If you experience unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, contact your doctor immediately.

Important precautions
Grapefruit consumption
Avoid drinking large amounts of grapefruit juice. It can significantly increase the levels of these medicines in your blood, making side effects much more likely.
Food and drink warnings
Grapefruit and grapefruit juice
Grapefruit can increase the level of these medicines in your blood, which may increase the risk of side effects. For Lipitor, avoid drinking large quantities (more than 1.2 litres daily), though it is safest to avoid it altogether. For amlodipine, avoid grapefruit juice as it can lower your blood pressure too much.

Can I take Aspirin and Nustendi together?
Taking aspirin with Nustendi (which contains bempedoic acid and ezetimibe) may slightly increase the levels of bempedoic acid in your blood. Additionally, if you are taking high doses of aspirin (over 325mg daily), there is a theoretical risk that it could interfere with how bempedoic acid works to lower your cholesterol.

Can I take Fluoxetine and Tramadol together?
Taking these two medicines together can lead to a rare but very serious condition called 'serotonin syndrome'. This happens when there is too much of a chemical called serotonin in your brain. Symptoms can include feeling very agitated, confused, or shaky, as well as sweating, a fast heartbeat, muscle stiffness, or diarrhoea. In extreme cases, it can cause seizures. Additionally, fluoxetine can make tramadol less effective at relieving your pain.
