wolframin ER transmembrane glycoprotein

The WFS1 gene provides instructions for producing a protein called wolframin that is thought to regulate the amount of calcium in cells. A proper calcium balance is important for many different cellular functions, including cell-to-cell communication, the tensing (contraction) of muscles, and protein processing. The wolframin protein is found in many different tissues, such as the pancreas, brain, heart, bones, muscles, lungs, liver, and kidneys.

Normal function

The WFS1 gene provides instructions for producing a protein called wolframin that is thought to regulate the amount of calcium in cells. A proper calcium balance is important for many different cellular functions, including cell-to-cell communication, the tensing (contraction) of muscles, and protein processing. The wolframin protein is found in many different tissues, such as the pancreas, brain, heart, bones, muscles, lungs, liver, and kidneys.

Within cells, wolframin is located in the membrane of a structure called the endoplasmic reticulum. Among its many activities, the endoplasmic reticulum folds and modifies newly formed proteins so they have the correct 3-dimensional shape to function properly. The endoplasmic reticulum also helps transport proteins and other molecules to specific sites within the cell or to the cell surface.

Wolframin is thought to play a role in protein folding and aid in the maintenance of endoplasmic reticulum function by regulating calcium levels. In the pancreas, wolframin may help fold a protein precursor of insulin (called proinsulin) into the mature hormone that controls blood glucose levels. In the inner ear, wolframin may help maintain the proper levels of calcium ions or other charged particles that are essential for hearing.

Infertility. There are three antiphospholipid antibodies: Lupus anticoagulant. Anticardiolipin antibodies. Anti-beta glycoprotein I antibodies. Lupus anticoagulant and anticardiolipin antibodies are the main ones. People with positive tests for all three antibodies have a high risk of developing a blood clot and/or pregnancy-related problems. If.

Puis-je prendre Certican (Évérolimus) et Matcha ensemble ?

Drinking matcha tea while taking Certican (everolimus) may increase the levels of the medication in your bloodstream. This could lead to an increased risk of side effects, such as mouth ulcers, infections, or kidney problems. Why this happens Certican is broken down in the body by a specific enzyme (CYP3A4) and a transport protein.

Puis-je prendre du millepertuis et de la vitamine B12 ensemble ?

There is no known interaction between St... It is generally considered safe to take these two together. Why this happens St John's wort is known to affect the liver enzymes (specifically CYP3A4) and a transport protein (P-glycoprotein) that clear many medicines from the body. However, Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is a water-soluble vitamin that is.

Patient information leaflet

Erythème noueux

Erythème noueux is a condition that causes red rounded lumps (nodules) to form just below the skin surface, most commonly on the shins. In most people, no specific cause or trigger can be found. But in some people a trigger (commonly a streptococcal infection or sarcoidosis) can be identified. Usually, the nodules heal within six to eight weeks.
